About me

My name is Tomáš Větrovský and I was born in Prague in 1985. I'm a scientist and a passionate indie game developer with a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Science at Charles University. Currently, I work at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences in Krč, where I actively contribute to the analysis of microbial communities in soil, employing cutting-edge DNA and RNA sequencing methods.

One of my significant achievements includes developing SEED2, a software tool for the analysis of DNA sequencing amplicons. I've also played a key role in creating two databases that focus on global fungal distribution - GlobalFungi and GlobalAMFungi.

Since around 2015 I've been involved in computer game development and in 2023 I reached a major milestone by publishing my first computer game Mycosis. My ultimate goal is to seamlessly blend entertainment with the promotion of various research areas, particularly in social insects like ants and microbiology.
